Jason Whalley

Dr Jason Whalley is Professor of Digital Economy, Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University, Newcastle, UK. His research focuses on the telecommunications industry, exploring the internationalisation of mobile operators and how they can create value from technological change. In addition, his research explores the provision of telecommunication infrastructure in rural areas, looking at how rural fibre networks are being rolled out in developed countries and their socio-economic impact.

Dr Whalley is vice-chairman of the International Telecommunications Society, a board member of TPRC and an Associate Editor of Telecommunication Policy responsible for special issues.
