Dear Representative / Senator,

Congress must hold Big Tech platforms accountable for their massive consumption of broadband network capacity. These companies enjoy some 200 b annualy benefit from the Universal Service Fund yet contribute nothing to the fund.

Real-time network traffic data shows that a small handful of dominant platforms—led by Google/YouTube—consume up to two-thirds of total broadband network capacity. As network operators are forced to continually upgrade infrastructure to accommodate this traffic, the financial burden can fall heavily on everyday consumers through increasing USF assessments and possibly higher monthly broadband bills.

Please support legislation and policies that ensure major content platforms contribute proportionally to the USF and network infrastructure costs so these expenses are not passed on to consumers and working families.
